The cast iron frame feels incredibly solid, and the bench mount keeps it perfectly stable while I grind. It takes some elbow grease, but the uniformity of the coffee grounds it produces is unmatched.

The cast iron body has such a beautiful aged patina, and the wooden handle still turns smoothly after all these years. I was honestly surprised how consistent the grind is for something built in the 1850s.

The bench mount is rock solid, so grinding doesn’t jog the whole thing around like my modern hand grinder did. It’s honestly a piece of history that still works perfectly for a daily espresso, and the cast iron has held up beautifully since the 1850s.
